It is a great honor to invite you all to Taiwan to participate in “Taiwan International Orienteering Competitions 2007”, which will be held during December 22nd - 25th, 2007.

Relay:
Each team must include 3 legs. Only the participants who have registered in the individual race may enter the relay. For those who have no partners may be arranged by organizer.

5.  Competition Rules
The Competition Rules for IOF Foot Orienteering Events, edition of January 1, 2007.
  
6.  Prizes
The prizes are awarded form the 1st place to 6th place. This is subject to change if there are less than 10 participants in each class.
  
7.    Maps
Maps are drawn in accordance with the International Specification for Orienteering Maps (ISOM 2000) and the International Specification for Sprint Orienteering Maps (ISSOM 2005).
Middle distance: Scale 1 /7,500, Contour Intervals: 5 m  
Sprint: Scale 1 / 5,000, Contour Intervals: 2.5 m  
Relay: Scale 1 / 7,500, Contour Intervals: 5 m  
　 8.    General description of terrains
A.       Middle Distance, Shin Hua Experimental Forest:
The terrain is located approx. 100-200m above sea level. It is hilly with steep slope, valleys and also marshes. The runnability is various.

B.       Sprint, National Chung Cheng University:
This area offers good runnability. Most of the terrains include built-up areas, and others are with open area and few forest.
C.       Relay, National Ping Tung University of Science and Technology:
This area offers good runnability. Most of the terrains include built-up areas, and others are with open area and few forest. North and Southeast parts are with limited visibility, and East part is quite hilly.
  
9.    Punching system
The SportIdent electronic timing and punching system will be used. You can use the card of your own or hire a card from the organizer. Remember that you cannot borrow or lend a SI card from/to another participant who has run another race during this event. SI cards to hire will be given by the organizers at the Competition Center with the other competition materials. The SI card hiring fee for the whole events will be 5 Euro.

11.   Accommodation
All participants will be accommodated in Evergreen Hotel. Please check the price in the entry form.
  
12.   Transportation
Bus transportation will be arranged from the event center to the competition area every day. Please check the price in the entry form. The participants are not allowed to enter the competition area by him-self. The participants who do not stay in the Evergreen Hotel should follow the directions to the gathering point in appointed time.
  
13.   Entry and fees

A.      Entry will be accepted until Dec 7, 2007
B.      Entry fee: 10 Euro for 3 races.
C.     Please check the entry form for the rental of Sport Ident card and the accommodation and transportation fee.

The basic casualty insurance is covered by the organizer.
  
15.   Other information
A.      Transportation to the event center:
a.   From Taiwan Railways Kaohsiung Station to event center, by taxi, it takes about 10 minutes and NTD(Taiwan Currency) 150.
b.   From Taiwan High Speed Rail Kaohsiung Station to event center will takes about 25 minutes and NTD 350.
c.    From Kaohsiung International Airport to event center will take about 25 minutes and NTD 350.
d.   From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Major International Airport in Taiwan), an additional domestic flight to Kaohsiung Airport is recommended.
B.    The traveling time from National Ping Tung University of Science and Technology ( the last race ) to other traveling spot:
a.   2 hours down south to Kenting National Park.
b.   1 and a half hours to the west to Kaohsiung City.
