Fund Raising for the Families of the Brave Firefighters

OAHK relayed the following appeal from IOSH (Hong Kong):

Dear Members,


A fire on 10 August 2008 claimed the lives of two brave firefighters, Mr Chan Siu-lung and Mr Siu Wing-fong.  It is indeed a sad moment to all people in Hong Kong for losing two fine courageous firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others.   We want to express our deepest sympathy to the families of the brave men who lost their lives in the line of duty.

If you wish to offer your donation to their families, you may send it to the Fire Services Department – Welfare Section, who will collect the donation from the public and send to the families direct.  As advised by the FSD – Welfare Section, the arrangement for donation, which is self-explanatory, is as follows:


(1a)        支票支付捐款方法
           支票上必須清楚註明收款人名稱:-

                      (i)         如捐款者指定捐助蕭永方的家人，請在支票上的收款人名稱上填寫蕭永方妻子名字”禤美英”，或英文名“HUEN Mei Ying Amy”。

                      (ii)        如捐款者指定捐助陳兆龍的家人，請在支票上的收款人名稱上填寫陳兆龍父親名字”陳耀發”， 或英文名”CHAN Yiu Fat”。

                      (iii)       如捐款者希望把捐款分別捐助蕭永方和陳兆龍的家人，則須獨立填寫二張支票，而每張支票上只可填寫一名收款人的名稱。

(1b)        現金支付捐款方法
捐款者須列明捐款金額的分配方法。但若未有註明分配方法，則會以平分方式捐助蕭永方及陳兆龍的家人。

(2)          捐款收集
捐款人將捐款支票寄往或直接交到消防處福利組，或捐款現金直接交到消防處福利組(九龍尖沙咀東部康莊道一號消防處總部大?五樓福利組)。

(3)          捐款者資料
捐款者在支票背面上清楚寫上聯絡電話號碼及回郵地址。

(4)                     收據發放
捐款收據將在完成有關手續後，以郵寄方式寄出給捐款人仕/團體。
