Orienteering Association of Hong Kong Hong Kong Orienteering Training Squad 2008 Aims :
To provide the Squad members with intensive and effective training programme so as to
enhance
their physical fitness and technical skills to attain the best results in both local and
overseas competitions.
Target participants
:
Elite runners who aim at being selected into the Hong Kong Orienteering
Teams competing in AsOC 2010 and other international competitions
Eligibility
:
(i)
Current OAHK Registered members
and
(ii)
ME or WE runners competing in the 2008-2009 competition season
(iii)
Being recommended or endorsed by the affiliated club of OAHK
Training Schedule
:
The Training Programme commences from October 2008 , including
Physical, Technical and Mental trainings; Training camps held in Hong Kong and
Overseas; Local and international competitions; Elite coach(es) will be invited to
help running part of the training programme;
Details of the training programme
will be worked out during the squad meeting
held on 13 October 2008, after consultation made between potential squad
members and coaches.
Obligations & Responsibility :
(i)
Attend all the training sessions as stipulated in the training programme.
(ii)
Apply
vide the ‘Leave Application Form’ for any session(s) to be absent with
acceptable reason and obtain approval from the respective coach (and with copy to OAHK office). In any case, a minimum of 70% attendance rate is required.
(iii)
Maintain a training plan and diary to be submitted to the coaches for review and
evaluation on personal progress. The training plan and diary are to be submitted to the
respective coaches (and with copy to OAHK office) on or before the 5th day of each
month.
(iv)
Maintain a positive attitude and good sportsmanship both during trainings and
competitions. Any damage to the image of the sport and the Squad in the form of
misbehaviour or misconduct will result in being expelled from the Squad and further
disciplinary action taken by the Association.
Assessment :
Periodical assessments will take place and all members have to meet the following
requirements in order to maintain their memberships in the Squads :

Subsidy for event entry fees, board & lodging and travelling expenses for
overseas competitions and / or training camp
(ii)
Equipment and uniform
(iii) High level trainings
(iv) Coach’s recommendations for Final Team selection into the respective teams
Enrolment
:
Complete and return the attached forms to OAHK office together with a crossed
cheque of HK$150 payable to ‘Orienteering Association of Hong Kong’ on or
before
6 October 2008. Application with incomplete information and
without squad fees
will not be accepted. Late application will not be accepted. OAHK has the full
discretion over the acceptance of
applications.
Team Meetings
:
All successful applicants will be informed by email or telephone of the details of the
first team meeting to be held on Monday, 13 October 2008 at 1900 hours at HKAYP Headquarters during which details of the training schedule and arrangements will be announced. All Squad Members must attend this meeting. |
